IMAS 2025 – A Landmark Surgical Training Event at IRCAD India

We are thrilled to announce that IMAS 2025 has successfully concluded at IRCAD India, marking a significant milestone in minimal access surgery education. Over the course of five days, 28 participants received hands-on training in advanced laparoscopic techniques, including bariatric surgery, endocrine surgery, and robotic surgery.

The course featured live surgery sessions, such as Robotic Gastrectomy for Cancer, Right/Left Colectomy, and Sleeve Gastrectomy, providing participants with direct exposure to real-world challenges and solutions in the operating theatre. Tele Surgery led by Dr. Mahak Bhandari was a historic addition, offering innovative, remote surgical techniques to enrich the learning experience.

We are immensely grateful to our esteemed course directors, Dr. Ramesh Ardhanari, Prof. Jacques Marescaux and Dr. Michel Vix, for their exceptional leadership, guidance, and commitment to shaping the next generation of skilled surgeons. Additionally, Dr. Armando Melani, Dr. Paolo Miccoli, Dr. Mohit Bhandari, and many other national and international faculty provided their invaluable contribution to making this course a resounding success.

The course also included experimental lab sessions, where participants gained hands-on experience in procedures like small bowel resection, Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, and splenectomy. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, praising the depth of knowledge, practical insights, and interactive learning environment.

IMAS 2025 also provided participants the opportunity to earn the Strasbourg University Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery, further enhancing their credentials and preparing them for global surgical challenges.

We look forward to continuing to offer world-class surgical education at IRCAD India in the future.
